Gardening in the hills is one of life’s pleasures.

The cool nights, good rainfall and rich soil provide the ideal environment for an amazing array of plants. From veggies to mighty oaks, tough grevillea to precious and delicately perfumed lily of the valley, you can grow them all in the hills.

Julie is busy picking mulberries, apricots, white peaches, young berries, (thank goodness for bird netting) strawberries, beetroot, tomatoes and lettuce.

The apples, pears, plums, (including our greengage), yellow peaches, nectarines, donut peaches, figs, pomegranates and grapes are all ripening as we watch.

The flower gardens are happy to have such cool weather over summer and our gladiolus have magnificent spires, brilliant blue agapanthus everywhere, the valotta’s have finished and now is the time to get those nerine bulbs in for Autumn flowers.

Happy gardening,

James.
